Hopkinsville woman charged with wanton endangerment

A Hopkinsville woman has been charged with wanton endangerment after she allegedly pointed a gun at her neighbors in a dispute Saturday.

According to the Hopkinsville police report, officers responded to the 100 block of North McPherson Avenue on for reports of a disturbance that involved a gun. Investigation reportedly revealed that 37-year-old Kelly North of Hopkinsville had reportedly gone to her neighbor’s property because that’s where her daughter’s bicycle was. While on the property, North allegedly held a gun in her neighbor’s face.

When another neighbor got between the two, she allegedly continued to point the gun at them both. A witness told officers they saw North hold the gun at the couple.

North reportedly told officers she took her gun with her because she “thought the people were in danger and that the people told her they would attack her daughter”. She also reportedly stated she kept the gun in its holster.

North was arrested and charged with first-degree wanton endangerment.
