Gov. Andy Beshear announced the approval of $2.6 million in state funding for projects to develop industrial sites and buildings in Fulton, Hickman and Hopkins counties on Thursday.
The funding announced is the second round of grants the three counties are receiving from the Kentucky Product Development Initiative which serves to ensure communities across the state have the resources necessary to keep up with industrial growth.
West Hopkins Industries Inc. in Dawson Springs was approved for a $2 million grant which is set to go toward site readiness preparation and the construction of a 100,000-square-foot spec building. In total the project has a $4 million price tag.
In a news release, Beshear says he looks forward to these investments resulting in quality jobs for Kentuckians.
