Hopkinsville man arrested for unlawfully entering residence

Officers of the Hopkinsville Police Department arrested, 34-year-old Phillip Hawkins of Hopkinsville after he reportedly unlawfully entered a residence and imprisoned the occupant.

According to a report from police, Hawkins unlawfully entered a residence on Springmont Drive by pushing through the entrance when the victim answered the door. Hawkins then went on to allegedly destroy multiple items in the home resulting in over $500 worth of damages.

The victim reportedly told police that they attempted to leave the residence multiple times, but Hawkins physically kept them from doing so.

Hawkins was arrested and charged with second-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief and second-degree unlawful imprisonment.
