Officers from the Hopkinsville Police Department arrested 47-year-old Frederick Tandy of Hopkinsville for driving under the influence of alcohol after he was reportedly involved in an accident on Friday.
The accident occurred on Country Club Lane at the intersection of Canton Pike, Tandy reportedly rear-ended a vehicle driven by Kristin Thomas of Murray twice. According to the collision report, Thomas’ vehicle had minor to moderate damage to the rear bumper and she was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for possible injuries.
Thomas reportedly told law enforcement that, Tandy asked if she was okay before taking off. Officers then reportedly located Tandy’s vehicle unoccupied at a residence on Seminole Avenue. At the residence, officers made contact with Tandy where he allegedly had glassy eyes, was swaying back and forth and was unsteady for his feet.
As a result of his condition, officers administered a preliminary breath test on Tandy which showed that he was intoxicated. Tandy was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident and failing to render aid or assistance.
