Crofton Elementary School teacher named presidential award finalist

Crofton Elementary School teacher, Christina Morris was announced as one of four Kentucky finalists for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.

According to a news release, the award is the nation’s highest honor for K-12 science, technology, engineering, mathematics and computer science teachers. Morris is a finalist for the science award alongside North Calloway Elementary School teacher, Jennifer McCafferty.

Teachers who are selected as award winners receive a trip to Washington, D.C. where they attend a series of recognition and professional development events. They will also receive a $10,000 award from the National Science Foundation, a presidential certificate, and will join a cohort of award-winning teachers.
