Joy Closet to host informational meetings for the Hope House project

The Joy Closet is gearing up to launch their Hope House initiative, and they’re looking for the communities help in getting the program up and running.

The Hope House would look to make sure that children who are placed into foster care don’t have to any longer that necessary in a DCBS office—especially not spend the night in one—by giving them a safe, inviting home to be taken to instead.

Joy Closet will host an information lunch and dinner on April 18, where attendees can learn more about the Hope House, hear from workers on the front lines and what can be done to support the program.  Founder Heather Gray says they’re dedicated to helping children, families and DCBS workers in the community, and this just one of many events aimed at furthering aid.

The informational meetings will take place at noon and 6 p.m. that day at First United Methodist Church in Hopkinsville and Gray says the Hope House will be located in Christian County.

Interested parties can register for the event on the Joy Closet website, or for more information, give them a call at (270) 632-1232
