Hopkinsville man federally indicted for conspiring to distribute meth and fentanyl

A Hopkinsville man is facing a federal charge, after a federal grand jury indicted him for conspiring to possess with the intent to distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl.

According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney of the Western District of Kentucky, 35-year-old Jason Stewart was charged with conspiring to possess with the intent to distribute meth and fentanyl.

If convicted, Stewart faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years and a maximum sentence of life in prison. There is no parole in the federal system.

The defendant remains in federal custody pending further proceedings.
