Proceedings were continued in the case against complicity to murder suspect Dekorian Daniel in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday, as the defense takes the time to go over new evidence in the case.
Daniel is represented by defense attorney Olivia Adams, who had originally filed a motion for a joint trial with Daniel and a co-defendant, but she requested that motion be deferred for now as she has just received a good amount of new evidence in the case that she needs to review.
She also says it’s likely that the attorney for co-defendant Cortez Hairston Jr. will object to her motion to join and she may even withdraw the motion, depending on the evidence.
Judge John Atkins continued proceedings to February 14 at noon.
Daniel is charged with complicity to murder in the 2021 fatal shooting death of Adrian Acree, where Daniel is accused of helping plan the killing. Hairston is charged with murder in the incident, while another co-defendant, Jaila Sherrod, recently pled guilty to facilitation of murder and tampering with physical evidence to her role.
