Cloudy, cool and rainy weather is set for this week, before a brief warm up heading into the weekend brings a chance for heavier rain and some storms.
In the weekly weather call Monday, Leader Forecaster Justin Gibbs with the National Weather Service in Paducah says they’re keeping an eye on a storm system entering the region this weekend—right now it seems like the bulk of the severe threat will stay to our south, but rain is almost certain and a couple of storms isn’t out of the question.
Things will cool off in the mid-week before a bit of a warm up Friday and Saturday, but the storm system will bring a cold front with it and cool things back down.
Gibbs says he expects at least one to two inches of rain across the region this week, though those projections could easily change.
In the 8-to14 day outlook, it seems temperatures are trending warmer than average, while precipitation is sitting in the normal range.
