A teenager is facing numerous charges following a vehicle pursuit in Hopkinsville Sunday afternoon.
According to the report from the Hopkinsville Police Department, officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle that was speeding in the area of Las Vegas Drive Sunday afternoon, but the vehicle reportedly failed to stop and accelerated away.
The short pursuit came to a stop on Tanglewood Drive, when the 15-year-old driver reportedly stopped the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot before he was taken into custody. The teen reportedly told officers he had taken his mother’s car and she didn’t know he had it.
He was charged with two counts of fleeing or evading police, two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment and reckless driving.
A passenger in the vehicle, 21-year-old Nathaniel Carroll of Hopkinsville, was also arrested and charged with unlawful transaction with a minor and obstructing governmental operations.
