Zach Moss’ UK baseball signing (Photos/Interview)

On Thursday afternoon inside the Tiger batting facility, Hopkinsville High senior Zach Moss signed his official letter of intent to play baseball at the University of Kentucky.

After signing, Zach shared his feelings and overall thoughts on his monumental moment.

Zach’s dream has always been to play SEC baseball, so playing for his home state’s team, and favorite college basketball school was just an added bonus.

Along with it being close to home, Zach said the coaching staff is what really drew him to sign with UK.

It takes a lot of hard work to get to the collegiate level, let alone division 1, and Zach talked about what it took to get him to that level.

Coach Malcom Tipler of Hopkinsville High Baseball gave his synopsis of Zach and explained how much of a competitor he is.

A day before Moss, fellow Tiger JJ Thompson also signed to play for Wright State. With having two D-1 players on the team, Tipler explained how it’s great for helping build the team’s culture and that he count’s on Zach and JJ to help lead.

For Zach, he plans to touch the plate and bat for the Tigers this season, but won’t be pitching as he is coming off of a Tommy John injury. Regardless, he is still excited to compete for one last season in the orange and black.
