This week’s Jennie Stuart Orthopedic – Michael Venable State Farm Player of the Week is Aiden Lewis.
Aiden is a junior at Christian Co. High School and is also a member of the bowling team.
In a recent tournament at Mayfield, Lewis had a great showing in three games putting up scores of 202, 201, 203 to gain a top-10 finish in the competition.
When asked about his start in bowling and when he started to take it serious, Aiden explained how playing with his brother during the COVID pandemic sparked his interest.
For Lewis, bowling is merely a secondary sport to his main athletic focus which is baseball. However, bowling for him he says, has been a great way to relieve stress and have some extra fun.
Lewis also talked about the similarities between bowling in baseball.
Parish Howell is the bowling coach for both the Christian Co. and Hopkinsville High’s boys’ and girls’ teams. With all of that responsibility, an assistant coaching staff is needed.
Mike Goode is one of those assistants and he works primarily with the Colonel boys.
Coach Goode talked with WHOP and gave some insight on Aiden as a bowler.
Goode also went on to say how he thinks Aiden can be a bowler competing in the state tournament whether that’s this year or next.
For Aiden and the rest of his squad, they will be off this weekend but look forward to hosting an invitational on November 18, at Southern Lanes.
