Todd County community members, businesses and organizations are showcasing their hay bale crafting and sculpting skills for Todd County’s 10th annual Bale Trail.
The inaugural Bale Trail kicked off in 2014 and Todd County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Tiffany Groves says the idea for the Bale Trail came from residents who saw a similar community event hosted in Montana and wanted to bring it to Kentucky.
Now nearly doubled in size since its inception, 57 hay masterpieces are sprinkled across Todd County for this year’s Bale Trail. Groves says not only has the local community rallied behind the event, but she sees people come from all across the region to travel the Bale Trail map.
The Bale Trail also has a competitive aspect, Groves says the most creative small, large and mega hay display winners will be determined and announced by Monday. Fan favorite winners will be determined by October 23 after voting, the community will have the opportunity to vote when all of the displays are posted on the Todd County Chamber of Commerce Facebook page.
The most creative winners will receive cash prizes and the fan favorite winners will receive Chamber Bucks gift certificates which can be spent at any county chamber member business.
Along with the Bale Trail, Groves encourages people to also take time to explore their local stores and restaurants.
