The Christian County Sheriff’s Department is investigating after a man was shot in the leg early Thursday morning in the 2000 block of Carl Smith Road.
According to a news release, deputies responded to a call of shots fired and upon arrival, made contact with the victim—30-year-old Davonta Spencer of Hopkinsville—who had a gunshot wound to his left leg. He had reportedly been sitting in his vehicle around 3 a.m. getting ready to leave for work when multiple shots were fired into his vehicle by an unknown suspect.
Spencer was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment of injuries that deputies describe as non-life-threatening.
The investigation continues and investigators are asking that if anyone has information on the incident is asked to call the ECC at 270-890-1300.
