Side-swipe vehicle wreck in Hopkinsville results in injury

A two-vehicle wreck occurred in Hopkinsville on Friday that resulted in one person being transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for the treatment of injuries according to a Kentucky Uniform Police Traffic Collision Report.

The wreck reportedly happened as Larry Leneave of Hopkinsville was traveling along Butler Road and was preparing to turn left into a driveway, but before he was able to turn, he was allegedly side-swiped by a vehicle driven by Juan Alvarez of Hopkinsville.

Leneave reports that he saw Alvarez’s vehicle quickly approach from behind before steering into the opposite lane side-swiping his vehicle before driving of the left side of the roadway through some brush before coming to a stop.

According to the report Alvarez had three passengers in the vehicle he was driving and he was the only person injured in the incident suffering a laceration on his hand and being transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center.

The report sites Alvarez with exceeding the state speed limit, failure to remain in his lane and inattention.
