VFW Post 1913 to host 9/11 memorial service Monday

Local Veterans of Foreign War Post 1913 will host their annual 9/11 Memorial Service on Monday, to honor and remember those who lost their lives in an attack on September 11, 2001 that killed nearly 3,000 people.

The event will begin at 11 a.m. at the VFW’s location off of Skyline Drive and include a short service and then a balloon release.

The VFW aren’t the only ones taking the time to remember that tragic day—there will be services across the country, along with memorial runs, stair climbs, and much much more, not just to remember those who lost their lives that day, but the numerous heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice in service of their fellow man.
