The inmate who escaped earlier in August from the Hopkins County Detention Center was apprehended Wednesday by the Madisonville Police Department.
According to a news release, 41-year-old Charles Woodward of Madisonville escaped custody by walking away from a work release program at Madisonville Tire and Retreading on August 17. He was serving a sentence for two counts of burglary and three counts of theft by unlawful taking.
He is now additionally charged with second-degree escape and has been relodged into the Hopkins County Detention Center.
