Clarksville man charged with assault, burglary in Hopkinsville

A Clarksville man is facing charges of first-degree burglary and second-degree assault after he allegedly assaulted his ex-girlfriend at a location in Hopkinsville Tuesday.

According to the Hopkinsville police report, officers responded to Jennie Stuart Health for a female victim with multiple injuries and were able to determine that she had been assaulted at a residence on West Second Street by her ex-boyfriend 22-year-old Wannye Boone of Clarksville.

Boone allegedly entered the residence uninvited and he and the victim began to argue, during which the victim told him to leave. Boone reportedly began to curse at her before grabbing her by the hair and punching her repeatedly in the head and face.

The victim tried to defend herself and Boone reportedly put her on the ground where he kicked her in the chest and back. Medical officials believe one of the victim’s fingers were broken in the assault.

Boone was arrested and charged with second-degree assault and first-degree burglary.
