Alpha Pregnancy Care Center seeking donations for Safe Haven Baby Box

A Safe Haven Baby Box could soon be located in Hopkinsville, but first, Alpha Pregnancy Care Center is putting out the call for help in raising funds to bring it here.

There are only two Safe Haven Baby Boxes in western Kentucky and Director Angie Crawford says they are devices that can help save the life of an infant while also helping women who are in a dire situation with not many options.

This box will be located at the Hopkinsville Fire Department and EMS headquarters on Phillip Meacham Way.

Crawford says it is fully climate controlled and will alert medical personnel with the fire department immediately that there is an infant in need, at they can respond within moments.

Altogether the project is projected to cost approximately $16,000 and donations can be made online through the Alpha Pregnancy Care Center website and Facebook page.  If you can’t donate online, checks can be sent to Safe Haven Baby Boxes, PO Box 185, Woodburn, Indiana 46797.
