Grand jury returns indictments for assault, wanton endangerment

A Christian County Grand Jury returned multiple indictments on Friday, including against a man accused of assaulting a woman with brass knuckles.

Indicted for first-degree assault is 40-year old Bobbie Dupin of Hopkinsville for an incident that occurred in April. He allegedly struck a female victim in the face while wearing a set of brass knuckles, knocking the victim unconscious. She was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Indicted for first-degree sexual abuse is 36-year-old Charles Spaulding of Hopkinsville, who is accused with forcibly making sexual contact against a victim under 12 years of age who was physically helpless.

Thirty-three-year-old Gary Boyd Jr. of Nashville has been indicted on numerous charges in relation to a pursuit and crash on KY 800 in Crofton from 2019. He is indicted on five counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, second-degree assault, fleeing or evading police, first-degree criminal mischief, unlawful transaction with a minor, trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of meth and drug paraphernalia, DUI, possession of an open alcohol container in a vehicle and numerous traffic violations.

As previously reported in 2019, troopers with Kentucky State Police attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Boyd near the 20 mile-marker of the Pennyrile Parkway southbound on April 1.

Boyd reportedly accelerated and crossed the median near the 15 mile-marker, heading north.

He took Exit 23 onto KY 800 and wrecked at the top of the ramp, going over a guard rail.

Boyd and his passenger, a 17-year old female from Evansville, were extricated from the wreckage and flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
