ESPN reports Beal is going to Phoenix for a trade package that includes Chris Paul, Landry Shamet, several second round picks and pick swaps. Beal has played his entire NBA career with the Wizards and is waiving his no-trade clause to help facilitate the deal. A third team could reportedly be involved as Washington searches for a trade partner for Paul. Bleacher Report says the Los Angeles Clippers are expected to pursue a reunion with the 38-year-old guard.

Bleacher Report says the reigning Eastern Conference champions are focused on a pursuit of Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard. Miami had reportedly been in talks to acquire Bradley Beal, before he was dealt to the Phoenix Suns. The Heat now shift their focus to Lillard, who averaged a career-high 32.2 points per game this past season. The 32-year-old guard reportedly could be looking for a change of scenery this offseason.

(Undated) — NBA star Lou Williams is retiring from basketball after 17 seasons. He made the announcement on Sunday with a YouTube video narrated by his daughter. Williams is a three-time Sixth Man of the Year award winner. The 36-year-old was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers in 2005 and would go on to play for the Atlanta Hawks, Toronto Raptors, Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Clippers. He most recently played for the Hawks in the 2021-2022 season.

The San Antonio Spurs hold the number one pick and are widely expected to take French super-prospect Victor Wembanyama. According to ESPN, Charlotte is expected to conduct a second-round of workouts and interviews with Alabama’s Brandon Miller and G League Ignite’s Scoot Henderson. Outgoing owner Michael Jordan will be among those in attendance. Miller remains the front-runner to go second overall, but Henderson had a strong workout and meeting with Hornets officials last week. Jordan finalized the sale of his majority stake in the Hornets to a group led by Gabe Plotkin and Rick Schnall last Friday.
