CCPS teacher to serve on Kentucky Board of Education

A Christian County Public Schools teacher has been chosen to serve on the Kentucky Board of Education.

According to a news release, Gateway Academy to Innovation and Technology teach Alissa Riley will be occupy the nonvoting teacher seat and was chosen from eight applications from the first Congressional District and was recommended to serve by the KBE Application Review Special Committee.

Riley plans to advocate for teacher recruitment and retention during her terms, along with improving career readiness in students and fully funded preschool.  She says, “I could sit here in my little corner of Christian County and advocate locally, but I want to do it on a much larger scale.”
