>>Heat Beat Nuggets, Even Series 1-1 In NBA Finals

 

(Denver, CO)  — The Miami Heat put together a strong fourth quarter on the way to a 111-108 victory over the Denver Nuggets at Ball Arena.  Miami outscored Denver 36-to-25 in the final 12 minutes to even the NBA Finals at one game apiece.  Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler each totaled 21 points in the come-from-behind win.  Gabe Vincent paced Miami with 23 points while knocking down four shots from three-point range.  Nikola Jokic [[ yo-kitch ]] scored a game-high 41 points and totaled 11 rebounds in the losing effort.  The series shifts to Miami for Game Three on Wednesday night at the Kaseya Center.

 

 

>>Golden Knights Eye 2-0 Series Lead Against Panthers In Cup Final

 

(Las Vegas, NV)  — The Golden Knights are hoping to take a commanding, 2-0 series lead against the Panthers in the Stanley Cup Final from Las Vegas.  The Knights are coming off a convincing, 5-2 win in Game One of the best of seven series.  Zach Whitecloud, Mark Stone and Reilly Smith each scored third period goals to secure the victory.  Florida’s Matthew Tkachuk had a bad turnover which led to Stone’s goal to make the game 4-2.  The Panthers expect a bounce back effort when the puck drops from T-Mobile Arena in Game Two tonight.

 

>>Kyle Busch Wins Enjoy Illinois 300

 

(Madison, IL)  — Kyle Busch took home the checkered flag in the Enjoy Illinois 300 for his third NASCAR Cup Series win of the season.  After an early delay due to a lightning strike, Busch emerged from the pack over the final 40 laps to secure an overtime win at World Wide Technology Raceway.  Denny Hamlin, Joey Logano, Kyle Larson and Martin Truex Jr rounded out the top five finishers.  The racers turn their attention to Sonoma for the Toyota-Save Mart 350 next weekend.

 

 

>>Viktor Hovland Wins The Memorial Tournament

 

(Dublin, OH)  — Viktor Hovland is celebrating his fourth career win on the TOUR.  Hovland topped Denny McCarthy in a playoff to win the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio.  Both players finished atop the leaderboard at seven under par.  McCarthy is still seeking his first career PGA TOUR victory.  Scottie Scheffler shot a 67 in the final round to end the tournament in third place at six under par.  Si Woo Kim finished in fourth place at five under.

(Paris)  — Fourth round action continues at the French Open.  Top-seeded Carlos Alcaraz and third-seeded Novak Djokovic each rolled to straight set victories.  Alcaraz will battle fifth-seeded Stefanos Tsitsipas in the quarterfinals, while Djokovic will meet 11th-seeded Karen Khachanov.  On the women’s side, second-seeded Aryna Sabalenka took down American Sloane Stephens in straight sets.  Karolina Muchova, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Elina Svitolina also advanced to the quarters.
