Fire damages Bahama Drive home

A cooking fire damaged a home Wednesday night on Bahama Drive in Hopkinsville.

It happened about 6:30 in the 3800 block of Bahama and Hopkinsville Fire Department Lt. Payton Rogers says the fire that started on a stove spread around the kitchen.

Firefighters quickly knocked down the blaze and the residents had been able to safely evacuate.

There was fire damage to the kitchen and smoke damage throughout the home and the American Red Cross was called to assist the residents as they had to find somewhere else to stay for at least a few days.

No injuries were reported in the blaze.
