Several Hopkinsville firefighters who saved a woman from a burning home on Morningside Drive on the morning of April 3 were recognized for their efforts Tuesday night.
Courtney Kearns was overcome with smoke and was without a pulse when Lieutenant Kyle Graves and Firefighter Anthony Richardson located and removed her from the home.
Firefighter/AEMT Zachary Lundberg and Firefighter/Medic Micah Orten, along with many others on scene immediately began life-saving efforts and Kearns was transferred to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, where she spent over three weeks.
She was able to be at the Hopkinsville Fire Department main station Tuesday evening and personally thanked those men for their quick, life-saving actions.
