A contractor plans to begin work on the new KY 115 connector in southern Christian County starting May 8.
That’s according to a Kentucky Transportation Cabinet news release, which states this construction phase of the new route is from KY 115 just south of Pembroke Elementary School and extends north to just shy the CSX Railroad. That’s roughly a mile and a half.
There will be utility relocation and roadway widening work along the existing KY 115 from Pembroke Elementary to Rosedale Cemetery, but the majority of the project will be construction of the new route across open fields.
Work is set to be complete and the new route is scheduled to be open to traffic by November 1, weather permitting.
Motorists are encouraged to use caution, slow down and be prepared for stop conditions.
