The local Imagination Library is teaming up with local agencies to put on a coin drive to support their ongoing efforts to promote early childhood literacy.
According to a news release, the goal is to raise $500 and hopefully launch an annual coin drive to support the initiative that mails free, age appropriate books to children five-years of age and younger in Christian County who are registered for the program. Coin donations can be dropped off now at the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library, Skyline Animal Clinic and MEDI, Inc on South Virginia Street.
The coin drive continues through April 30.
Imagination Library Coordinator Ka’Dessa Snorton says, “A $26 donation can provide a child free books from Imagination Library for a year. If our goal of $500 is met, 19 children will have books for the year.”
