Todd Fiscal Court gives raise to election workers

Todd Fiscal Court on Friday approved a pay raise for election workers and approved the jail budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

County Clerk Cindy O’Bryan says election workers are now getting paid $150 and magistrates approved raising that to $220 as the cost of gasoline and everything else has gone up in recent years.

In other action, magistrates approved spending about $86,000 to purchase a skid steer and trailer for the road department after the need became apparent following the March 3 severe weather and historic wind that downed numerous trees.

Jailer Jeff Penick presented his $2.2 million budget for approval that includes just over $1 million from the county’s general fund and he says they plan to purchase a new van for about $39,000 to transport inmates.

Representatives of the Todd County Central High School Class of 2023 asked for and received the $1,000 budgeted donation to their upcoming project graduation celebration.
