>>Rick Pitino To Become Head Coach at St. John’s

(Queens, NY)  —  Rick Pitino is set to become the new head coach for the St. John’s men’s basketball team.  According to ESPN, the 70-year-old and native New Yorker signed a six-year deal.  Pitino will be replacing Mike Anderson who was fired after four seasons.  Pitino will be leaving Iona to take the job.

(Undated)  —  The sidelines of the Big East will look a bit different next season.  Providence Friars head basketball coach Ed Cooley is leaving his alma mater to become the next head coach at Georgetown.

(Undated)  —  The Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament tips off later this week.  Number-4 Tennessee will play ninth-seeded Florida Atlantic in the East Region Thursday night at Madison Square Garden.  Meanwhile, Vanderbilt hosts UAB in the NIT quarterfinals tomorrow night.

>>Predators At Sabres Tonight

(Buffalo, NY)  —  A fresh sheet of ice is set in Buffalo tonight as the Predators battle the Sabres.  The team is hoping to bounce back from a blowout loss to the Rangers over the weekend.  Nashville has 76 points and trails Winnipeg for the last Wild Card spot in the Western Conference by five points.  The Flames are also ahead of the Predators.

(Miami, FL)  —  The stage is set for the World Baseball Classic Final.  The United States is set to take on Japan on tonight in Miami for all the marbles. The United States is looking to defend its WBC title after claiming the last championship in 2017.  Japan is aiming to claim its third title in the fifth-ever Classic.

(Green Bay, WI)  —  An ultimatum is being given for the Jets to trade for Aaron Rodgers.  NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport says the NFL draft in late April has been set as a deadline to get a deal done.

>>Grizzlies “Hopeful” Ja Morant Plays On Wednesday

(Memphis, TN)  —  The Grizzlies are hoping to have their star point guard back this week.  Memphis head coach Taylor Jenkins said the team hopes to have Ja Morant for Wednesday’s game against the Houston Rockets. The 23-year-old had been suspended by the NBA for eight games after live-streaming video of himself holding a firearm at a Denver-area nightclub on March 4th.
