Heavy rain event possible late this week

A wet workweek is expected and flash flooding could be possible Thursday night and Friday in western Kentucky.

A major event isn’t expected at this time, but Mike York with the National Weather Service in Paducah said during this week’s conference call that initial indications are for two to three inches of rain to fall late this week.

After a cooler-than-average month, the long range outlook is showing April to be warmer than normal and York notes it’s usually one of the stormier months on the calendar.

Current projections are showing severe weather chances to remain in Tennessee and areas to the south late this week, though that could change as we get closer to the event.
