Mory Burse, the man accused in the 2021 shooting death of Devon Kendrick on Sharpe Street, has hired a new attorney.
Ramon McGee of Louisville represents Burse and told Judge Andrew Self during a hearing Monday morning that he’s working with Commonwealth’s Attorney Stephanie Bolen to get all of the evidence.
He asked for some more time to prepare before setting a new trial date, with Judge Self scheduling another hearing for April 3.
Burse is alleged to have used a 9 mm handgun to shoot the 48-year-old Kendrick multiple times in the torso and arms just before midnight July 28, 2021 at a location behind the East Ninth Street Dollar General on Sharpe Street.
