Special prosecutor to be appointed in McHenry Street murder case

A special prosecutor is being appointed in the case against the suspect in a 2019 fatal shooting on McHenry Street in Hopkinsville and his attorneys are eager to get a new trial date.

Commonwealth’s Attorney Stephanie Bolen confirmed to Judge Andrew Self Monday morning that she’s contacted the Attorney General’s Office and a special prosecutor will be appointed in the murder case against Robert Torian.

James Chamberlain represents Torian and says they’re looking to schedule a trial as soon as possible and he believes they can prove Torian’s innocence.

Another pre-trial hearing was scheduled for Monday morning of next week, when a new trial date will likely be set.

Torian is charged with murder for allegedly shooting and killing Terrill Moore during an argument that began inside a car on McHenry Street in August of 2019.
