Kentucky had lowest unemployment rate ever in 2022

Kentucky had its lowest annual unemployment rate in history in 2022.

The annual unemployment rate for 2022 decreased to 3.9 percent from 4.4 percent in 2021, according to the Kentucky Center for Statistics.

It was a drop from 10 years ago when the annual rate in 2012 was 8.2 percent and is the lowest seen since the US Bureau of Labor Statistics began reporting state unemployment rates in 1976.

The U.S. annual unemployment rate fell to 3.6 percent in 2022 from 5.3 percent in 2021.
