Gusty winds and severe weather are possible this week, in addition to unseasonably warm temperatures through Thursday.
A Wind Advisory has been issued from noon until midnight Tuesday, with gusts up to 50 mph likely to knock down limbs and cause a few power outages, with travel also becoming more difficult for operators of high-profile vehicles.
Justin Gibbs of the National Weather Service in Paducah says the greatest threat for downed trees and power outages will be to the west of the Pennyrile region, where a High Wind Warning is in effect.
A marginal risk for severe weather arrives Wednesday night and then the region is in a slight risk at this point Thursday. Gibbs says it doesn’t look to be a major tornado outbreak, but local residents will need to be sure they’re weather-aware during the day Thursday as a few warnings are possible.
There’s a marginal risk for flash-flooding Thursday, but again, Gibbs doesn’t expect that to be a major issue.
