Road conditions are much-improved across Western Kentucky this morning, but motorists should still be on the lookout for black ice that may have formed overnight with re-freezing.
Public schools in Christian, Todd, Trigg, Muhlenberg, Caldwell, Hopkins and Stewart counties are closed today, in addition to Dawson Springs Independent Schools—with many districts operating remotely.
University Heights Academy and Heritage Christian Academy are on a one-hour delay, while Clarksville-Montgomery County Schools are operating on a two-hour delay. Hopkinsville Community College campuses are operating remotely and Madisonville Community College is opening at 11 a.m.

While roads are in much better shape than 24 or 48 hours ago, motorists are still encouraged to give themselves some extra time this morning, as any ice that melted yesterday may have frozen over again and formed black ice.
That could especially be true on secondary roads and side streets, some of which have remained ice-covered since precipitation began Monday night.
Temperatures are expected to rise several degrees above freezing today, which should go a long way toward finally melting away all of the ice and getting everything closer to normal.
