A high-speed pursuit Wednesday afternoon in Hopkinsville ended with the arrest of the driver on multiple charges.
A Hopkinsville police officer attempted to stop 38-year old Julian Bell of Hopkinsville after Bell passed him on East Ninth Street traveling at a high rate of speed while weaving in and out of traffic, according to the arrest citation.
Bell allegedly refused to stop, turning onto the Bypass and then onto Commerce Court before entering the parking lot of Grupo at a high rate of speed.
He got out of his car and allegedly struggled with officers before finally being arrested.
Police say Bell admitted to drinking and driving, saying he knew it was wrong.
He was charged with fleeing or evading police, resisting arrest, DUI, reckless driving and other traffic offenses.
