Kentucky Hosts Auburn on Thursday Night for We Back Pat

The University of Kentucky women’s basketball program will play host to Auburn on Thursday, Jan. 26 at 7 p.m. ET inside Memorial Coliseum. The game, which will mark the program’s annual We Back Pat game, will be broadcast on SEC Network+, with Jeff Piecoro and Christi Thomas on the call. Kentucky has a 9-10 overall record and a 1-6 Southeastern Conference record this season. Each of UK starting guards have reset their career high in scoring over the last three straight games – Scherr (25 points vs. South Carolina on Jan. 12), Benton (29 points at Florida on Jan. 15) and Walker (22 points at Mississippi State on Jan. 22). Kentucky and Auburn are tied in the all-time meetings, 26-26, in a series that began in 1980. Meanwhile, UK leads AU in games played in Lexington, 12-10.  The Wildcats have won 15 of the last 16 matchups against the Tigers, including the last eight straight.

Cardinals Matchup Versus Clemson Moved to 2pm Start

The University of Louisville women’s basketball matchup against Clemson’s game time has been adjusted. The Cardinals and Tigers are now set to play at 2 p.m. ET on Sunday, February 12. The game was originally slated for a 6 p.m. ET start.

Cardinals Travel to Take on Wake Forest

The Louisville women’s basketball team is back on the road for a pair of ACC games this week. Up first for the Cardinals is a Thursday night matchup against Wake Forest in Winston-Salem. The Cardinals and Demon Deacons will square off at 6 p.m. ET. Louisville has been one of the best road teams in the country over the past six seasons. Since the start of the 2017-18 season, the Cardinals are 58-10 in road games. The 58 wins are tied for the second most in the country over that span. So far this season, Louisville is 6-3 in road games and they won their last ACC road matchup, an 83-75 win over Florida State on Jan. 15.

Turnovers Again Cost Cards in Road Loss at Boston College

Louisville men’s basketball led Boston College for more than 24 minutes Wednesday, but turnovers again proved costly in a 75-65 road defeat. The Cardinals (2-18, 0-9 ACC) committed 19 turnovers which led to 18 Boston College points, allowing what was at one point a 12-point advantage in the first half slip away. Quinten Post paced Boston College with 22 points and six rebounds. El Ellis led Louisville with 17 points and five assists, while Jae’lyn Withers contributed 16 points and seven rebounds. Mike James finished with 15 points, and senior forward Sydney Curry found double digits with 10 points.

Tops Start Florida Road Swing at FIU on Thursday

WKU Hilltopper Basketball starts a two-game road swing at FIU on Thursday night. The 6 p.m. CT game will stream on ESPN+. In a 20-game conference season, FIU is the first repeat opponent for the Tops. The Hilltoppers are looking to snap a three-game slide and pick up their third league road win. WKU most recently dropped one to Charlotte on Saturday, 75-71. The FIU Panthers won at UTSA on the same day, 77-72. WKU has a 39-10 edge in the all-time series. The Hilltoppers lead the series in Miami as well 14-6. WKU is 7-3 all-time against the Panthers in the Rick Stansbury era.

Lady Toppers Host FIU on Thursday

WKU women’s basketball returns to Diddle Arena to host FIU on Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m. The Lady Toppers are currently ahead of the Panthers by one game in the Conference USA standings.

League-Leading Govs Host Flames, Thursday

Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team enters the fourth week of ASUN Conference action tied atop the league standings and on its longest winning streak since 2017 when it hosts Liberty for “We Back Pat Night” at 6 p.m., Thursday, in the Winfield Dunn Center. Austin Peay (11-6, 6-1 ASUN) is tied with Florida Gulf Coast and Lipscomb for first place in the ASUN. Liberty (11-7, 5-2 ASUN) defeated FGCU for the first time in program history last week, creating the tie for first place. The Governors currently are on an ASUN-best five-game winning streak which also is the program’s longest since a seven-game streak in 2017. The Flames are on their longest winning streak of the season at three games following wins against Jacksonville, Stetson and the Eagles.

Governors hit the road to take on league-leading KSU, Thursday

Looking to get back on track, the Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team kicks off a two-game ASUN Conference roadtrip when it squares off with Kennesaw State at 6:30 p.m. (CT), Thursday at the KSU Convocation Center in Kennesaw, Georgia. At 8-13 overall and 2-6 in conference play, Austin Peay currently sits in 12th place in the ASUN standings. Kennesaw State is tied with Liberty for first in the ASUN with a record of 7-1 in league action, the Owls are 15-6 overall this season. Austin Peay is looking to pick up its second road win of the season and just its third win away from the Winfield Dunn Center. Kennesaw State is 8-0 at home this season and has won 10-straight games at the KSU Convocation Center dating back to last season.

(Undated)  — Number-4 Tennessee blew out Georgia 70-41 at home in college basketball action.  The Vols improved to 17-and-3 and will host 10th-ranked Texas Saturday night.  Memphis took down Cincinnati in its last game.  The Tigers are 15-and-5 and will host SMU tonight.
