A Christian County grand jury will soon hear an attempted robbery charge against an Oak Grove man after he waived his preliminary hearing Friday morning in Christian District Court.
Assistant County Attorney Katherine Foster and defense attorney Olivia Adams told Judge Foster Cotthoff that 53-year old Anthony Harris of Oak Grove had decided to waive his right to a hearing and go directly to the grand jury and they were agreeable on a release with an ankle monitor.
The Hopkinsville police arrest citation for Harris says he went to Superior Paint and Body on McLean Avenue about 4:15 p.m. on January 11 wearing a ski mask and armed with a pistol and that he demanded that that his car be released or he’d shoot the victim.
Harris reportedly owed $3,000 for services rendered by the business and he and his unidentified accomplices fled in the vehicle he arrived in when his car wasn’t turned back over to him.
He was additionally charged with promoting contraband at the Christian County Jail, with the incident report saying Harris unlawfully brought prescription medications into the facility.
