A two-day trial ended Friday in Christian Circuit Court with a jury convicting a local man on sex crimes against a teen.
Court officials say the jury found 50-year old Leslie Lee Penick of Butler Road guilty of four counts of third-degree rape and one count of sodomy in the third degree.
Penick accepted a new plea offer from the special prosecutor following the verdict that came with a 10 year sentence. He waived final sentencing and was turned over into the custody of the state.
He will also be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
