A man who allegedly stole a pickup at the Guthrie Wastewater plant late Tuesday night drove it to Pleasant View, Tennessee and crashed through the window of car dealership.

Authorities in Cheatham County say Doug’s Auto Sales and several classic cars inside are damaged following the crime spree.

Investigators say 28-year-old Nathan Wasson stole the work truck before driving to Pleasant View, and through the Doug’s Auto Sales building around 1:30 a.m. He had crashed the Guthrie truck through a fence after stealing it from the water plant and it was left inside the dealership.

He is accused of then driving a vintage blue Camaro through a door at the property, and stealing another Camaro, leading police on a chase into Robertson County, briefly escaping.

Wasson is now facing a list of charges after a Robertson County homeowner was able to detain him until officers arrived.

Wasson was arrested in Christian County in September after being held at gunpoint by a homeowner on Gracey-Herndon Road during a burglary.

Guthrie police are investigating the theft of the utility truck.
