Back to Back Sweeps on the Road for UK Volleyball

Kentucky and Auburn entered Saturday tied for first place in the Southeastern Conference at 7-2 in league play with Florida, but the No. 20 Kentucky Wildcats that put their stamp on the SEC race with a convincing 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-16) sweep of the Auburn Tigers inside Memorial Coliseum. Kentucky never trailed in sets two and three, gliding to keeping its spot atop the conference with Florida, who also won Saturday to keep pace. Kentucky would go a step further though repeating the result Sunday, sweeping Auburn 3-0 inside Memorial Coliseum for the second consecutive day.

Matthews Marks 500th Career Block; Hilltoppers Sweep LA Tech

The Hilltopper Volleyball team continued their homestand on Saturday evening as they played host to the Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters. The 2022 WKU Homecoming theme was “Nightmare on Normal Street” and the Tops in many ways caused a nightmare for the Lady Techsters sweeping LA Tech 3-0. Right at the top of the match, fifth year Lauren Matthews stuffed her 500th career kill as a Hilltopper. She not only holds the school record for blocks but is now the only member of the 500-blocks club.

C-USA Women’s Soccer Bracket Set; WKU To Face North Texas

The Conference USA Women’s Soccer Championship bracket has been set. WKU is the No. 7 seed and will face No. 2 North Texas on Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 10 a.m. (CT) in Charlotte, North Carolina. The entirety of the tournament will be broadcasted on ESPN+. Winning teams in Wednesday’s matches will advance to Friday. The winner between WKU and North Texas will play at 3:30 p.m. (CT) and will face the winner of UAB and UTSA. The championship match will be played on Sunday at noon (CT). WKU and North Texas faced off earlier this season. The Mean Green scored in the 81st minute to secure a 1-0 win in Bowling Green on Sept. 25.

Racers Advance to MVC Semifinals in Thrilling Fashion

With less than a minute left in double overtime, Saraya Young netted a stunning solo goal to lead Murray State women’s soccer to a 2-1 win over Southern Illinois in the Missouri Valley Conference quarterfinals on Sunday afternoon in Carbondale, Illinois. With the win, the Racers secure a spot in the semifinals of the Valley in their first season in the league.

Seyring and Powell errorless in straight-set victory over Royals

Seniors Mikayla Powell and Tegan Seyring both totaled 11 kills and no errors as Austin Peay State University’s volleyball team earned a straight-set ASUN Conference victory (25-15, 25-16, 25-18) against Queens, Saturday, at Curry Arena.
