>>Volunteers Tame Wildcats

(Knoxville, TN)  — The number-three Tennessee Volunteers crushed the Kentucky Wildcats 44-6 at Neyland Stadium.  The Vols ended the game on a 37-0 run, and Kentucky dropped seven spots to number-24 in the coaches poll following the loss.  Hendon Hooker passed for 245 yards and three touchdowns in the victory, and he added a score on the ground.  Jalin Hyatt caught five passes for 138 yards and two scores.  Tennessee remains undefeated at 8-and-0 overall and 4-and-0 in the SEC.  The Volunteers visit number-one Georgia on Saturday.  Will Levis threw three interceptions for Kentucky, and Christopher Rodriguez Jr. rushed in the Wildcats’ only touchdown.  Kentucky falls to 5-and-3 overall and 2-and-3 in the SEC.  The Wildcats are at Mizzou this Saturday.

>>Louisville Knocks Off Wake Forest

(Louisville, KY)  — The Louisville Cardinals pulled of a 48-21 upset over Wake Forest at Cardinal Stadium on Saturday.  Wake Forest entered Louisville as the number-ten team in the country and left as the number-19 squad.  After trailing by one at halftime, the Cardinals outscored the Demon Deacons 35-0 in the third quarter.  Kei’Trel Clark and Quincy Riley each had a pick-six.  Malik Cunningham threw for 164 yards and scored two rushing touchdowns.  Tiyon Evans picked up 106 yards and a score on the ground.  The Cardinals improve to 5-and-3 overall and 3-and-3 in the ACC.  Louisville hosts James Madison this Saturday.

(Undated)  — In other college football action over the weekend, Middle Tennessee beat Texas-El Paso 24-13, Austin Peay lost to Jacksonville State 40-16, Chattanooga fell to Furman 24-20, East Tennessee State was defeated by Wofford 48-41, Murray State took down Tennessee State 19-3, Tennessee Tech earned a 20-17 win over Eastern Illinois, UT-Martin crushed Houston Christian 52-28, Eastern Kentucky beat Southeast Missouri 28-23, Morehead State was run over by Butler 56-20, and Western Kentucky lost to North Texas 40-13.  Memphis and Vanderbilt both had a bye.
