Longtime state Senator C.B. Embry dies following battle with cancer

Longtime state Senator C.B. Embry has died following a battle with cancer.

Embry represented Butler, Muhlenberg and Hopkins County for many years in the Senate and previously served in the House.

Third-district Senator Whitney Westerfield of Crofton called Embry a good man and hard worker.

He says Embry was a ‘model legislator’ who regularly stood on principle.

In addition to 20 years of service in Frankfort, Embry previously served as Ohio County judge-executive and mayor of Beaver Dam and he said that helped make him a strong supporter of Kentucky’s 15 area development districts.

Embry was a Republican and resigned from his seat earlier this week due to his failing health. He was 81 years old.
