Racers Baseball Set For Two Fall Games
Murray State baseball announced their 2022 fall schedule on Tuesday featuring two games and a professional scout day. The Racers are set to take on Western Kentucky and Southeast Missouri. Coach Dan Skirka and his squad will travel to Bowling Green, Kentucky on October 1 for a matchup with Western Kentucky. MSU will round out the fall with a matchup against former Ohio Valley Conference foe Southeast Missouri on October 22 at Reagan Field.
Govs baseball begins fall practice, Monday
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team and first-year head coach Roland Fanning begin their 2022 fall practice slate, Monday, at Raymond C. Hand Park, with the first intrasquad scrimmages planned for this weekend. Austin Peay will practice at 1 p.m., Monday and Tuesday each week, with intrasquad scrimmages on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. This weekend’s scrimmages will occur at 1 p.m., Friday; 11 a.m., Saturday; and 1:30 p.m., Sunday. In conjunction with Homecoming festivities this week, the Governors will also hold their annual Family Day as part of Saturday’s scrimmage. All practices and scrimmages are open to the public. The 2023 Austin Peay baseball roster features 28 new faces, including 22 transfers, so this fall is the perfect time for Governors fans to see the new squad in action. The 2023 season begins on Feb. 17.
Fans welcomed to second annual Govs Madness, Oct. 20
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Austin Peay State University basketball welcomes fans to the second annual Govs Madness, a night of fun, prizes, and an electric atmosphere at 6 p.m., Oct. 20 in the Winfield Dunn Center. On-court games, exclusive prizes, a three-point shootout, dunk contest, and scrimmages. Doors to the Dunn Center open at 6 p.m., with special giveaways available to fans that arrive early. Fans also are encouraged to visit the new student-athlete lounge before heading to the lower bowl to compete in on-court games. After both teams are introduced, APSU will unveil the 2022-23 men’s and women’s basketball posters, which will be available to fans at Govs Madness. Following a scrimmage by APSU alum and community members, head women’s basketball coach Brittany Young will address the crowd before her team’s three-point contest and intrasquad scrimmage. Head men’s basketball coach Nate James will then speak prior to a dunk contest and scrimmage. Men’s and women’s basketball student-athletes will be available to sign autographs and greet fans on the court at the conclusion of the event.
