Several items discussed in case of Ashwood Village double-murder suspect

Several items were discussed during a hearing Monday morning in Christian Circuit Court for Anthony Gaines, the man accused of shooting two people to death at Ashwood Village in August of 2021.

Audrey Woosnam and Brandi Jones are representing 32-year old Anthony Gaines and were granted a motion by Judge Andrew Self for the Commonwealth to look into and reveal any times that Joshua Young, a witness in Gaines’ case, has been granted immunity or leniency in exchange for his testimony.

Commonwealth’s Attorney Rick Boling has turned over additional evidence in the case and Judge Self deferred making a ruling on a motion for discovery until the attorneys have looked through it.

Gaines is accused in the shooting deaths of his cousin, Kierra Wallace, and George Gomez at a home in Ashwood Village near Peach Street.

He’s charged with two counts of murder, first-degree robbery and wanton endangerment charges that are related to children in the home where he allegedly opened fire.
