Heat and humidity return this week

Unseasonably hot and humid weather will briefly return this week before a cool down prior to the weekend.

Christine Wielgos is the warning coordination meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Paducah and says the hottest day will be Tuesday, when temperatures in 90’s and humidity could make heat index approach 105.

She says high temperatures by Thursday will be in the 70’s and while it’ll rebound into the 80’s over the weekend, the humidity will remain low.

Todd and Muhlenberg counties received a little rain Monday morning, but the rest of us will have to wait until at least late Sunday.

The forecast for next week is looking warmer and drier than normal.
