Todd Fiscal Court keeps property tax rate the same at special meeting

Todd Fiscal Court approved final reading of an ordinance Friday morning keeping property tax rates the same as last year at a special-called meeting.

The vote was unanimous to leave the tax rate at 9.9 cents per $100 of assessed value and Judge-Executive Todd Mansfield credits fiscal court and county department heads for allowing the county to keep the property tax rate the same for at least the last dozen years.

Judge Mansfield took a moment to praise local law enforcement and the school system for its response to a student bringing a gun to Todd County Central High School Wednesday, which ended with the student in custody and no one injured.

In other action, John Paul Leinbach was appointed to the Todd County Library Board.
