CFB Update

>>Wildcats, Vols, Cardinals, Tigers Win, Commodores Lose In C-F-B Action

(Gainesville, FL)  — The Wildcats, Vols, Cards and Tigers are celebrating college football wins over the weekend while the Commodores lost their first game of the season.  Kentucky got a signature victory in Gainesville after they took down the Gators 26-16 and improved to 2-and-oh while Tennessee has the same record after earning a 34-27 overtime win against the Panthers in Pittsburgh.  Louisville beat U-C-F in Orange County 20-14 to improve to 1-and-1 and Memphis earned a 37-13 victory against Navy in Annapolis to get to 1-and-1.  Vanderbilt lost to Wake Forest 45-25 and is now 2-and-1 on the season.

(Lexington, KY)  — Alabama is once again atop the latest coaches poll after picking up its second win of the season.  Georgia remains second in the rankings followed by Ohio State, Clemson and Michigan to round out the top five.  Kentucky and Tennessee made significant jumps in the rankings.  The Wildcats went from 20th to 10th and the Vols are 16th after being unranked last week.  Despite entering the second week of the season ninth in the country, Notre Dame dropped out of the top 25 after falling to oh-and-2.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Mark Stoops became Kentucky’s all-time winningest coach as No. 20 Kentucky topped 12th-ranked Florida 26-16 on Saturday night at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. Stoops’ 61st win as the UK head coach, breaking the school record of Hall of Famer Paul “Bear” Bryant in his 10 years in Lexington.
