(Cincinnati, OH) — Joe Burrow will be trusting a rookie to help keep him upright this season. Rookie Cordell Volson won the left guard position battle against Jackson Carman. Offensive coordinator Brian Callahan confirmed the news and said the fourth-round pick had continually gotten better through training camp and the preseason. He says Volson earned the job. The Bengals open their season Sunday afternoon when they host the Steelers.

Rookie receiver Treylon Burks is expected to have a major role in the offense according to E-S-P-N’s Dan Graziano. He says despite Robert Woods slated to be the Number One guy, Burks has been given extra reps to get him up to speed quickly after a difficult spring.
