(St. Louis, MO) — Albert Pujols moved within five home runs of 700 career blasts as the Cardinals blanked the Cubs 2-0 in St. Louis. Pujols hit his 695th career homer with a two-run shot in the eighth inning. Miles Mikolas tossed eight scoreless frames to earn his 11th victory on the mound. Ryan Helsley secured his 13th save for the Cardinals. Chicago was held to just two hits.

(St. Louis, MO) — The Cubs managed just two hits in a 2-0 loss to the Cardinals at Busch Stadium. The game was tied in the bottom of the eighth before Albert Pujols launched a two-run home run off of Brandon Hughes, who was charged with his second loss in relief. Marcus Stroman tossed seven scoreless innings in the losing effort. The Cubs fall to 56-and-78, and they return home for a series against the Reds tomorrow.

(Cumberland, GA) — Marcell Ozuna homered as the Braves topped the Marlins 7-1 at home. Max Fried pitched five scoreless innings to earn the win. The Braves improve to 84-and-51. Atlanta is one game back of the Mets for first in the NL East. The Braves will visit the Athletics tomorrow night.

(Cincinnati, OH) — The Reds win their series against the Rockies after splitting both games of a doubleheader. The team lost the first game 8-4 thanks to C-J Cron’s two-run homer. Cincy dominated game two 10-0 after roughing up Jose Urena for six runs on eight hits over five-plus innings pitched. Aristides Aquino crushed a pinch-hit grand slam for the Reds who took two-of-three in the series. The team will look to keep the momentum going tomorrow as they take on the Cubs in Chicago.
